In the early 1990s, Japan's entertainment industry was severely impacted by the bursting of the economic bubble. Til the end of 90s, the idol culture brings the society back to life. The emergence of successful idols drew more teenagers to pursue careers in the industry.
Yuki, born in 1990 in Aomori, grew up alongside this cultural shift. Inspired by the idol phenomenon, she moves to Tokyo in order to chase her dream. With the support of her father, she signs into a small agency and dedicates herself into idol career in a underground idol group. With years of singing and dancing practice, it seems like she’s one step away from her dream.
After the annual performance, Yuki hopes to receive enough votes from her fans to further her career. However, during the akushukai (fan meeting event), she discovers that her most devoted supporter has abandoned her in favor of supporting a teammate. Under pressure from her manager, Yuki feels forced to make a difficult decision, ultimately leading her to descend into the darker side of the industry.
